The Effects of Peer Assessment on Student Writing
Study after study affirms a finding that students actually feel as though they gain greater critical thinking skills and sometimes greater understanding of what to do in their own writing. That's not very conclusive. The scale tilts a little bit, let's put it that way, depending upon the study. Students who are more insecure to begin with may not have that insecurity buffered by the peer assessment experience as much as they like. But again, that hasn't been my experience."
