Credit Modeling - How Did You Approach Building This?

When we started, we weren't very good. It's just anyone who is thinking about going into a credit related business should just understand that the first couple of years are going to be a challenge. Traditional credit metrics like FICO or Vantage scores don't really rank order well enough. While you can try to use them as a proxy, what ends up happening is you will ultimately realize as your cohorts start to age, that you're not making any money. The largest spend category in our firm is around the credit modeling and credit strategy.
