The Rapture
The Rapture is a thoroughly modern doctrine. It's barely a hundred years old. And it's a kind of a misreading of a few disparate passages in the New Testament, most notably there in 1 Thessalonians 4. In order to be raptured, you have to be on fire for Jesus because he will spit you out if you're if you were only lukewarm.
