Zephaniah's Legacy
Zephaniah is given a surprisingly extensive genealogy, going back to his great, great grandfather. Zephani's place among and unity with the prophets is underlined by the sive commonality between the language and themes of zephaniah and those of other prophets. In the verses that follow, zephania ces the destruction that is about to come upon the earth. The superscription of the book introduces it as the word of the lord that came to him.
