How Did the Solar System Get to Be Where It Is Today?
Jupiter was probably born out in the outer solar system. Beyond that is the ice line, or some people call it the snow line. And out there it's easier to make big planets, because there's ice available to add to your core. So we end up with what for planets out past the ice line - three and a half times the radius of the earth. Is that pretty common? Like that number? We don't know the answer to that yet.
