How to Be a More Active Learner

I have been visiting my local bar and coffee shop in Tokyo every week for the purpose of practicing Japanese. I still need to take a more active approach to listening to podcasts and watching TV shows. But in terms of speaking, I have definitely become more active over the past three months and can feel the difference. In summary, active listening requires you to think about, engage with and process information in an active way.
