The Symbol of Death in the Initiation

In a dream, the hero has to flee an initiation. He is bleeding from his thumb as he does so. The nicking reminds me of circumcision. In some jewish synagoge s, when somebody wants to convert to judaism, they may have what's left of their forskin nict by the rabbi - part of this covenant between the jew and god. So i think about the little nick on his thumb as this symbolic circumcision that’s part of his transformation from youth into manhood.
