The Future of the Strategic National Stockpile
There is no incentive for a hospital that needs to buy hundreds of thousands of N95 masks. So there would have to be huge, huge changes in policy and spending at great cost. We bought the N95 masks that are in the stockpile with funds that were appropriated in the early 2000s. They've passed their expiry date; we didn't have additional funds to buy more.
