The Basics of Quantum Computing

The quantum theory of nature kind of expands the very basic way in which we understand nature to be working. A classical computer, a regular computer, is based on the fact that systems can be in one state at every point in time. And so a quantum computer is built out of these like many qubits that can be in many different states at the same time. This can allow us to sort of parallelize the computation so that we can gain a computational advantage.
