The Life of Hamilton Hume

Hamilton Hume was born in Parameda, which at the time was a town in New South Wales. His parents were Andrew H. Hume and Elizabeth Kennedy Hume. In 1817 he was selected by Governor Lachlan McCory to accompany a surveyor named Mian on an expedition through southern Australia. He explored Jervis Bay, the Clyde River, and Yas Plains before setting out his own project of exploring further north.
