By third grade, there's almost a pressure to find your people and find your best friend. A true friend would understand that it's okay to have lots of other friends. There's an aspect or a darker side to the best friend structure in elementary school where there's a lot of control. It can make best friendship actually like both really passionate but also kind of treacherous.
