Some sweeteners occur naturally, such as stevia. Sweetners differ from one to another depending on how they're processed by the body. The four most commonly consumed sweetness are spartam, sacarin and suquelise. And what i thinks really surprised me when i was researching a this is that diet coke, for example, you drink in the usa at has a different kind of sweetener than the one that you buy in england.
Artificial sweeteners are everywhere. Not only in diet soft drinks but in many foods that you wouldn’t expect. You’ve probably eaten some today without realising.
Sweeteners have been around for over a hundred years yet remain the subject of much debate. It's hard to know how they stack up next to the alternatives.
