How Did You Become a Chef?

I always tried to incorporate some sort of intellectual or literary pursuit into my cooking. And I always had doubts about becoming a 100% cook or chef. That was never my ambition. At two different points, there were chances for me to be like a contributor or co-author to cookbooks. It wasn't so much that I went hard. It was just that I was so desperate to write,. whenever an opportunity seemed within grasp that I just like desperately reached for it. There really wasn't a structure. She was busy running a restaurant and also like trying to wrangle any chef to do anything is impossible. When you're 20 something, 22, you can't make anyone do anything.
