Microsoft Says New AI Shows Signs of General Intelligence

Some AI researchers at Microsoft think that the AI system they're working on could be showing the faintest signs of approaching artificial general intelligence or AGI. The science fiction definition of AI has long been one of general intelligence, often passing into the category of superhuman intelligence. While the researchers appear convinced that these are some early signs of limited but still general intelligence, other experts argue that the results just give the appearance of intelligence.
