The Fear of Physical Death and Reincarnation

Do you think that when we think about legacy, leaving something behind after we physically die or even thinking about concepts like reincarnation. Do you think that's in some way just our imagination trying to cheat death? That's us trying to believe that, you know, we're not going to totally disappear after we die. And that even after we potentially overcome the fear of physical death that we can't overcome this fear of total annihilation.
