Ricky Ray Rector and the Death Penalty

I was reminded of, you know, there's great motivation depending on the time and circumstances for being pro or anti death penalty. I think about in the early 90s, do you remember Ricky Ray Rector? Yes. He had a killed a store owner and then he tried to kill himself but failed. And this was during the 1992 election,. so then Governor Bill Clinton had to go back to Arkansas and he insisted on presiding over an execution. It just happened to be Ricky Ray Rekters and Ricky did not know what he had done. Right. So again, and as a Catholic, of course, we're not supposed to believe in this because we believe in redemption. right.
