Is There a Civil War Environment?

The first time i ever read anything in ancient history that reminded me of, like, george orwell's 19 84. Go into that a little bit and talk about how different that was for rome to wake upand go see if you were on the list to die. You're operating in a civil war environment where it's no longer enough to just beat your rivals, you have to kill them. And if you don't kill them, then they're going to come back and thy're going to kill you. So very much so.
