Always store your state outside of APIs and don't start with microservices from day one It's okay to start with a monolithic API that you split later on. Just deploy it and figure out where the pain points are yes, okay? That is exactly what I always recommend because an API gate so API management is basically an API gateway on steroids meaning you're exposing yourAPI to your customers through a reverse proxy.
