The Ancient Greek Mythology of Prosthesis

The earliest ancient literary reference to prosthesis isn't actually from ancient Greetal Rome, it's actually from ancient India. This is from an ancient Indian collection of the Vedic Sanskrit hymns called the Rigbeda that dates to around 1500 to 1200 BCE. The reference is to a female warrior called Vishpala, who had an iron leg. She sounds hot, like so many of them here in warrior iron leg like you want her on your side.
