Rhodium: A Byproduct of Platinum Mining
In 2021, Rhodium was all the way up to $29,000 an ounce. The volatile and high prices are most likely due to new regulations for cleaner emissions in the automobile industry. People have been mining Rhodium as a byproduct of platinum since the 1930s. Of available Rhodium, 80% is used in catalytic converters and cars to help clean exhaust emissions.
