Some auto makers are now exploring subscription models for different features. The most recent news is that b m w is charging a monthly subscription fee to turn on heated seats in a few places overseas. It's also offering drivers what it calls the iconic sounds sport package. That means that you can pay a one time fee of 100 and 17 dollars to get that classic room room engine sound playing inside your car. One industry watcher is sceptic that drivers will buy in when the average car price now tops forty eight thousand dollars, the highest in history.
