The Importance of Identity in the New Beginning
The door is an identifying mark, marking those that are inside for this new beginning. It represents the first born of Egypt which represents the seed of Egypt. The blood will be assigned for you on the houses where you are and when I see the blood I will pass over you no destructive plague will touch you according to God's word. So we can understand it in that way as a kind of identifying mark which is related to this new beginning and this identity which is burgeoning. This is a day you are to commemorate for the generations to come you shall celebrate it as a festival of the Lord a lasting ordinance.
