The Evolution of Predictions
The idea there is that we're predicting not just the external world, but the signals from our own body all the time. We use predictions to make sure that we don't have to stray right outside the bounds of viability before we know something's going wrong. And how does this account for other aspects of experience like emotion and motor behavior? I'm thinking especially things like pain and there's this wide literature on things like placebo and no-sibo effects.
