The Effects of Age on Bone Mass

During childhood, you accrue bone as the skeleton is developing. Girls probably hit that sooner than boys do. By late teens, early early 20s, women have hit their peak bone mass. Men might be delayed a little bit a few more years. And I think there's some evidence that you may be able to maintain that peak bone mass into potentially the fifth decade.
