Sam: Would these sessions be essential not only because they're there to try and improve recovery but they're essential to try and avoid pooling of the blood avoid or improve venous return. Sam working with endurance athlete may have more of a traditional build for an endurance athlete so he might break up their 1k repeats at slightly faster than their 5k base. These strategies could be very useful you could even use these strategies on some of their higher intensity work as well though.
