The Frustration of GWAS Research
There are two aspects this the frustration on the part of the people doing most of this GWAS research funding it is that they can't find major effect causative alleles which they can then follow up and you know do drug design or personalized medicine. It's interesting to look at what happened in the animal breeding world where it was realized pretty early on that you were not going to be able to find the gene for milk yield. You could use DNA seeking state and not to do engineering but to make a better statistical estimate of breeding value. The missing component is because of things like the the slips that we are actually observing and not the causal is they're linked to something causal, he says.
