The Medicare program is a program that the federal government runs all by itself exclusively. It subsidizes health care for principally for senior citizens people over age 65 there are a couple other groups that are eligible for Medicare. There's been a lot of evidence that has accumulated that it has actually had a negative impact on the quality of care that Medicare enrollees receive and everyone else receives.
