Does Mario Batali Deserve Grace?

JK Rowling has doubled and tripled and quadrupled down on her position that historically female spaces must be kept free of anyone whom she would categorize as male. If the discourse had been less shrill, if people had extended her a little more grace, maybe she might not have felt cornered into doubling down. She's an adult, an extremely wealthy privileged adult, and she is responsible for her own actions. legitimately threatened and marginalized trans people don't owe anyone grace.
