Chess is a little harder to quantify what the experiments are. But like the way, i'll try different ways of studying tactics. Should i study positions that take 20 minutes to solve, or shall i study more positions that take three seconds to solve? And i've experimented doing one thing one day and then playing and see how i do, and then the other thing the next day and playing chess and seeing how i do. I feel like i get much more improvement when i study intermediate level puzzles instead of the hard level puzzles.
