I started writing it like two thousand 14, and then the two thousand 16 election happened. And that took me away from that, this story, into non fiction projects. When i returned to it, i was like, oh, my god, lorana is even more important. We literally had an administration plotting how to criminalize the american dream. It wasn't even hidden any more.
