In ancient philosophy, the soul is somehow the birthiest thing about us. What kinds of mental states you have and how you relate to the world are super important. I think what one needs to embrace is that it just really truly matters whether you lead a good life or not. Maybe part of why it matters to take care of one's soul as Socrates would put this, is that the soul is some kind of connection to divinity.

In this episode, hear from two philosophy professors, Dr. Meghan Sullivan of Notre Dame and Dr. Katja Vogt of Columbia University. Their conversation from April 2022 draws from philosophers like Aristotle and Plato, and they discuss how truth can be appreciated and acted upon, what it means to pursue truth together, and how rediscovering the value of truth just might make our lives and society better.
