The Life of Robert Darwin
Charles Darwin started school in 1817 when he was aged eight. He went to a boarding school near home called Shrewsbury School which was one of the best in the country and stayed there for seven years. Science wasn't taught at school though so it doesn't seem particularly relevant that he wasn't that good at school. His parents were Robert Darwin and Susanna Wedgwood. In 1800 his family gained or his family gained 25,000 pound inheritance which in today's money is a lot more.
