The Unrateful Refugee

The book opens with the story of KB and that story is woven all the way through to the end. As a person who was a refugee, what led you to this topic of looking at other refugee stories? I think part of it was understanding that there's a certain kind of story that won't be believed unless it's told in a particular way, particularly by the West. And so I went and found the Iranians who had been refugees or were refugees now. That started the process for writing my last nonfiction book which was the ungrateful refugee.
