The concept of a chair gives you some handle on what happens in the real world. The boundary between chair and not chair might be approximate and fuzzy, but it's still worth drawing. There'll be a lot of principles that are sensible to follow, even though you can't draw the lines for them exactly. This is somethin you have to live with and do the hard work. Don't demand clarity where clarity is not available.
