The Virtues Lead Us to God

St. Francis de Sales highlights the fact that a vocation isn't something in the abstract, it's not something where God says, okay, this is the ideal of holiness. He says rather, I'm calling you to a relationship with me and like all relationships is going to take on that concrete and particular character. And so too for everybody else that, yeah, the virtues lead us to God. They help us to live our lives towards Christ and towards the life of devotion but are also appropriate to who we are and to our state in life.
