The Importance of Cluster Munitions in the World
When it's explicitly banned, or when it's been given a very bad name, these things stick around. And they don't go away. America used to be very attuned to this. But the thing with cluster munitions makes me kind of question if they are still in the world. It gives a hellish imagery. I could quite imagine Britain resorting to everything short of nuking Bonnace Arias from a Polaris sub because of the taboo involved. That's not some of the most horrific tortures available,. but you know, Christopher Hitchens defended the Bush administration's use of borderboarding and torching before he decided it was torture.
