The Secret History of the Emperor Justinian

An Italian librarian poking around the Vatican archives uncovered another work by Procopius. The Anochdota, or Secret History, is Procopius' personal account of the Emperor's reign. In it, Procopius reveals his contempt for the peasant emperor and his wife. He eventually turns on Belisarius II for his various foibles.
