Are Ukranians and Russia in the State of Meldown?

The longer things drag on, the more of a quagmire it is for putin. Ucranians may have to suffer doing it, but it strategically suits the west in terms of weakening russia. But this interest probably has to be counterbalanced against another interest - trying to avoid complications. The two complications that come to mind that are specially severe are, this escalates into something greater than what we have seen already. And so from that perspective, i suppose there is a growing understanding...that perhaps we need to move towards a negotiated solution.
