I Love the Radical Tailor of Charing Cross

It was driven by a real strong radical impulse, so the people who established the London Mechanics Institution were radicals. It was really brought together by the students themselves who really understood that the only way they were going to change their worlds is through education. I love the idea of the radical tailor of Charing Cross, or the sideline in interest in free love. He was greatly in love with his wife, he was a domestic servant, and he was for free love, he was for birth control. Remember this is 1823, a real feminist of that time.
