Jemima Kirk lived through this period very vividly and talks about it. For her, that's like the last moment that New York was cool. Of course, it was also the year that CBGBs turned into a John Varvatos. So there were people who had been there since the 70s who would look at that period as the beginning of the end. And so they're nostalgic for this period of New York.
