South Korea's Nuclear Threat Will Not Be Perceived as a Threat to China's National Security

Jun Suan is a senior fellow and co-director of the East Asia Program at the Stimson Center. South Korea's President Yun Sukyo has said that if North Korea's nuclear threat grows, his country may build a nuclear arsenal or ask the United States to redeploy nuclear weapons in the South. Both are seen as very bad news for China, whether it's the South Korea goes nuclear or South Korea strengthening its extended deterrents with the U.S., Jun says.
