The China syndrome was a hit. It made millions at the box office, was nominated for four Oscars and some would later say it predicted the future. This film in a kind of uncanny coincidence came out 12 days before the accident at Three Mile Island. The worst nuclear accident in US history sparking health concerns that lingered 40 years later.
