He became a master of theology at the age of 25, which was unheard of at the time. His handwriting is the worst handwriting of any one in the middle ages. It's unbelievably bad. He produced amazing numbers of monographs. They often had two or three secretaries that he would dictate to in a given day - sometimes more than one at once.
