How to Perceive Reality Through Your Lens
Phenomenology is trying to get to like the reality of somebody's experience, which is a very difficult thing to do. Heideggerian philosophy says we have to bracket our biases before we go in and set them to the side so that as we go into learn somebody else's experience, ours don't get in the way. And then the whole time we're going through the research, we have to keep rechecking our biases and asking ourselves how does the way I subjectively feel affect the way I'm interpreting what they're saying?
