Qasakim came to power in the southern half of Egypt, artifacts with his name are almost all from that region. It seems as though Qasakim arose in the south at first, at some point he began to move north. In one artifact, the king left a record of, quote, fighting the northern enemy. On other pieces he makes references to rebels, rebels who get crushed underfoot. Was this a civil war on some grand scale? We don't know.
