duncan lost his sense of smell when he fell down a flight of stairs at the age of 22. His doctor told him to 'just live with it' and that there was little information about this condition. But five years later, while living in same flat as friend Adrian, he almost died from gas poisoning because they hadn't turned off their cooker properly.
