I run almost 15 scans every day after the market closes to give me an idea of what is working, you know, what sectors are performing well and where institutions are putting their money to work. My base parameters are built in a fashion that I only I only have to pull a few levers to get the view of the market that I want. Also, take notes of the sectors that are that your scans are producing right. This gives you a window into which sector showing strength in the current market. Now, usually scans if you like, but more importantly, start trying different parameters on FinViz to create the list that you want.
