In 1998, archaeologist James L. might Commissioned the study to uncover more evidence of what happened to the patriot. And after a ton of digging, his team was able to find that there was no record of the patriot having passed through that blockade. So it's strange because they were not given safe passage, at least not recorded safe passage. The most prominent and dramatic theory that came out of the late 19th century, early 20th century is that she was seized by pirates.
