What's Really Going On?
If the war on Christmas was really only about religious liberty or the freedom to practice as they see fit, there would be no issue because nobody is contesting that. So what's really going on? It goes back to the theme that we've hit on in the past couple of weeks and it's about who owns or controls American identity itself. For these people, any movement away from a culturally shared sense of Christian identity can only be an attack on authentic American identity herself.
