Is This Debt Ceiling Fight Unconstitutional?
The Constitution says the House of Representatives shall choose their speaker and other officers. There is an asterisk because you can't hold a position in, for instance, the executive agency and a position in the legislative branch. Same with the judiciary. So that's an interesting philosophical fight that just isn't really coming up.
